Poem 121:

The Lonely Tree

Sadness Climbs a Lonely Tree

Sadness climbs a lonely tree
it sees only itself,
and misses the sparrows & leaves
set upon the tree

When winds of change
do ever appear,
sadness feels only the blistering heat
of yesteryear

In a bright morning
the song and sun it cannot find
for it longs of a yesteryear
that was never near

Here alone
stands sadness great song
when all it needs to do
is climb off that tree
and see how wonderful, life can be!
