Poem 119:

Morning Chit Chat

When a sky once black
leaks forth a tender kiss
of a rising sun, now aglow

Her gentle beam,
shall touch with morning ray
awaken friends,
the sparrow and blue jay

In a moment’s breath
dust the earth with a quiet shine
awaken from nights cocoon
her subjects, old and new

Some still young, others quite gray
gather at the cypress sedge,
to tell their stories with delight
of things found in the night

Arising from a sleepy morn
the mist shall lift a morning tide
life again sets forth the birth of day
along the shores of a tranquil bay

Once more, now anew,
that which tells us all is right?
lies in the morning chatter
of a misty bay
