Poem 142:

Confused in May

So Confused…

How confused is the sun
does it not know,
today is May 1?

Or is it mother nature
reminding all,
that her grace is to bestow
& she will make the call?

Or perhaps spring
took a break, said to the sun,
let’s think this over

I’m not quite ready
for summer sun,
so let’s have some fun
with those in shorts, down below?

But I really suspect
ole man winter,
with that awkward pause

Cleared his throat,
and said to all
I don’t remember anyone
asking me, if I was done!

(I’m pretty sure those guys
on acu-most probable-ever so dependable-weather, didn’t talk
to mother nature, or the sun)

  1. Hello, I’ve nominated you for the Sunshine Blogger Award! You can learn more about it at http://ambitiouspoet.wordpress.com/2013/05/02/sunshine-blogger-award/

    • Thank you for the kind thoughts, but alas I hide from awards — even skipped my high school graduation and several in college. Take care and thanks!

  2. Lovely poem

  3. Nice poem. And really appropriate for a lot of folks this year.

  4. When I first looked at the photo I thought it was a lovely picture of a bridal wreath bush, but then I read the poem and realized how wrong I was just like those weather guys! 🙂

  5. Love your poem. Thanks for liking my personal version of Ps 136. There’s no snow in Southern California, and we are glad that the mighty summer heat hasn’t arrived yet. Give thanks in all things! Cheers!
