Poem 136:

When Time Travels in Reverse

When time travels askew
a sunrise dissolves in the west
the moon with silent waves
shows her face, then slowly slips away

A morning tide, the stars and moon
have changed their course,
choosing to quietly
glide in reverse

Walking backward in the sand
until they find the sacred place
where path and time dwell as one,
first to merge, then diverge

Find the two, clasped as one
a place where hearts bleed as one
one line upon the sand
written in the soul of man

Two hearts, one heart,
no longer alone
with single hands as one,
the story of our birth
